"For my cousin's birthday, I bought a hand-made silk scarf from a local artist named Barbara. She explained how she had made the design and what significance it held for her. The hatural forms in her design were drawn from the woods that surround her Adirondak cabin. My cousin is a hiker and she found the scarf especially meaningful." -Amy
"For my birthday I got an amazing one-of-a-kind ceramic box. One of my favorite images, was impressed on the side of the box -- a giraffe. The artist explained how he had created a stamp in that shape and then impressed it into the wet clay before it was fired. My friend explained this to me. I will treasure the gift because of all the thought that went into it." -Laura
"During Third Thursday last week I went with two friends to the Delavan Art Gallery. We talked to one of the artists about her work. What fun!" -Sue
